Soak up the Christmas atmosphere at one of London's many Christmas markets and festive fairs. Many London Christmas markets are fun for the whole family, featuring fairground rides, hand crafted gifts plus festive treats such as mince pies and mulled wine.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park
22 November - 06 January
Kick start your family Christmas, with a visit to Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland. Returning for it's 11th year, there is no shortage of festive fun to be had!
The whole family can enjoy the UK's largest outdoor ice rink, fairground rides, child friendly Santa Land (including Santa's grotto), or wander through the vast Christmas market for those last minute Christmas gifts or presents.
Returning for 2018 are two circuses, Zippos Christmas Circus and Cirque Berserk Spectacular.
This year the Magical Ice Kingdom presents an ice and snow sculpture experience, with a brand new theme, created from over 500 tonnes of beautifully sculptured ice and snow, that will take your breath away in temperatures of -10!
If you prefer, just watch the world go past, as you tuck into traditional Christmas food and a warming festive drink, at one of the many eateries.
Back again for 2018 we see one of London's most famous squares transformed for the festive period, and rightly named 'Christmas in Leicester Square'.
The square will be filled with traditional wooden huts, selling their hand crafted gifts, festive decorations and lots more. Plenty of festive, heart warming food and drink, colourful confectionary and lots of Christmas treats.
The Belgian Spiegeltent will be pitched in the middle of Leicester Square, and home to a host of Christmas shows brought to you, including: Black cat Cabaret's spellbinding Parisian circus, The Showstopper's Christmas Kids Show, and a performance of Roald Dahl's Marvellous Medicine for the little ones.
Families with young children can also explore Santa's grotto and meet Father Christmas himself, surrounded by the square's festive atmosphere.
Scandinavian decorations, a giant Norwegian tree, bustling Christmas markets, plus a host of seasonal events are what you will find this year at the Winter Festival at Southbank Centre.
The Winter Festival is full of traditional wooden huts selling their hand crafted goods, or take yourself to the Charity Shop Emporium, where you can pick up original gifts from one of the pop up stalls from the larger named charity shops and smaller charitable organisations.
Gather around the traditional fire pit, and enjoy a glass of hot spiced plum cider, or tuck in to your favourite American style burger, tasty German sausage or authentic wood fired pizza.
