Having been a home to the Royal Family for over 900 years and still an Official Residence of the Queen, Windsor Castle is a magnificent sight, surrounded by beautiful grounds and overlooking the River Thames.

The State Apartments

Take time to explore the luxurious State Apartments, which today are regularly used for State occasions and Royal receptions. The Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection, see if you can spot the paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Leonardo da Vinci.

St George's Chapel

Next visit the fourteenth century St. George’s Chapel, the final resting place for former monarchs including Henry VIII, Jane Seymour, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, this peaceful church still holds regular services today.

Queen Mary's Dolls House

Queen Mary’s Dolls House was specially built for Queen Mary by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in the 1920’s. It is an amazing miniature copy of a typical aristocratic home, and has everything from working lights to running water.

The Changing of the Guard

While your visiting Windsor castle you may be lucky enough to witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony. This takes place at 11.00am, weather permitting, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
